My weekend on a platter: Pizza 4 Ways

I had a beautiful weekend - and after a long long time a very productive weekend. It has been a while since I have packed so much activity into a single Sunday. The day began with a trip to a nursery to pick up just a few plants and I came home with a whole car full of plants. I love plants and my family knows that well. I am not an expert gardener but getting my hands dirty in the mud and potting plants is strangely therapeutic for me. What I came back home with was a wide array of lush and green plants - palms, ferns, crotons, hydrangeas, anthuriums and lots more! Didn't I tell you I had a very productive day. The one I am most kicked about would be the strawberry runners I laid my hands on. I am very excited to plant these little beauties and wait patiently for the harvest. Yay!

From the nursery we made our way to a movie. We managed to sneak in a very rushed lunch and made it to the movie just in time. Came back home tired and exhausted. We still managed to find enough energy to go around the house arranging all the plants, fussing around where each one should go and finally giving up when we got too hungry.

Oh, I totally forgot mention, all this while it had been POURING outside - Bangalore is drenched in rains these days, but I am not complaining. I love rains and everything about them.

Tired as I was, there was no serious cooking that I was in a mood for, except these pizzas which do not qualify as serious cooking at all - more like a last minute putting together of ingredients I had lying around.

Whole wheat pizza bases were already at home - I am always stocked for emergency food cravings!

The make-shift tomato sauce for the pizza was put together last minute with ketchup, oregano, garlic powder, some Italian seasoning, black pepper and salt.

The Very Cheezy Pizza had a generous helping of a cheese spread (Classic flavour) added to the tomato sauce. I must mention it really came out very cheese-licious and was my favourite pizza of the night :) I prefer the Britannia cheese spreads, but it is just a personal preference.

PS: this is not a sponsored post, I am just sharing the brands of products I used. Please feel free to use whichever cheese spread you like.

After a round of pizzas, some wine and a lot of banter, we wound up the day, sleepy eyed and exhausted, yet happy and fulfilled.

This is my recipe for a perfect Sunday: Good food, great company and time well spent in doing things I love.
