Banana Bread Smoothie


Ever had one of those times when you don't have enough time on your hand but still want something healthy and filling for breakfast. 

For all of us busy people this is a story of every morning. The solution is often found in reaching out for anything in the cafeteria that looks appealing (which is often synonymous with something that we should actually NOT be having - think donuts, a slice of cake, a greasy cheese sandwich, blah blah blah...)

Even worse, we might just skip breakfast altogether. Not a great choice because it slows down our metabolism and we end up eating even more for lunch. All in all - bad idea!

Here is what works for me - this incredible banana bread smoothie. I call it banana bread because these are the ingredients I like to put into my banana bread loaf!

Ingredients

1/2 a ripe banana (I used a frozen one)
1/2  cup milk
3-4 ice cubes
5-6 pieces of walnuts
Few drops of vanilla extract (optional)

Just blitz all the ingredients together in a blender and drink away!

It's filling, healthy and nutritious!

It is filling (because of the banana); healthy (that's the milk) and nutritious (like all nuts, walnuts are a great source of proteins and fats that are good for you). 

I like to add vanilla 'coz vanilla in anything adds a degree of awesomeness that can't be matched - in other words, I love everything about vanilla.

And yeah, forgot to mention this takes less than 10 minutes to make!!!
